Colombia Excelso

Excelso is a grading term in Colombia. Excelso coffee beans are large but slightly smaller than Supremo coffee beans. Excelso coffee beans are a screen size of 15-16. Colombian coffee is graded before shipment according to bean size. It is possible that Supremo and Excelso coffee beans are harvested from the same tree, but they are sorted by their size. The greatest volume of exported coffee is Excelso. These beans include good-to-large flat beans and some peaberries.

Usual Good Quality coffee, has a mix of flat and Caracol beans, mixing large, medium, and small beans, which are retained above mesh size 14. With the flexibility of 1,5% maximum of beans allowed under this screen.

Wholesale Supremo Colombian Coffee screen 17/18, this type of coffee is characterized by large, even and flat grains retained above the # 17 - 18 mesh with a 5% flexibility under this mesh but retained by #14 mesh.
